Building the business case to move from paper forms to mobile apps

Come along to our free, half-day workshop focusing on building the business case for successful mobile working

Mobile technology is pushing the UK public sector towards a new era of computing that will impact the way public services are delivered. The big shift to mobile which the public sector now faces is opportunistic but also challenging. The priority for all public sector organisations is efficiency: enabling reduced teams, usually with backlogs, to be more efficient and effective. Mobile teams moving from paper to digital mobile is often 30% more efficient.

With the understanding that real mobile working extends core business processes out to staff working in the field on a tablet or smartphone, this workshop is designed to give practical support on proving the business case to effective implementation. Explore the business opportunity for lean and agile mobile application development and how this can be successfully implemented.

Why Attend?

You will leave this workshop with:

  • Completed ROI sample cases for your own organisation
  • A simple-to-use mobile ROI calculation tool and training on how to use the tool to analyse potential mobile applications
  • An understanding of the art of the possible, the benefits and challenges of introducing mobile working
  • A library of real-life case studies illustrating tangible organisational business benefits
  • Connections to public sector colleagues involved in similar mobile business application projects
  • An understanding of the quantifiable savings that can be made in your organisation by introducing mobile working and the skills to assess, quantify and prioritise future savings and efficiencies
What is the format of the day?

This is a half-day, highly-interactive, non-technical workshop, designed for you to get real value delivered through a series of presentations, workshop exercises and round table discussions with colleagues from the public sector. You should bring along field-based paperwork forms or rough notes about the things you want to turn into applications - ideally at least one line of business workflow example and one non line of business example e.g. expenses.

Who should attend?

Business Transformation Managers, Customer Services Managers, Departmental Heads, Chief Medical Officers, Business Development Managers, IT (IM&T) Directors and Managers - anyone interested in driving efficiencies and savings in the public sector, whether from an IT or departmental perspective.
